Dr. Tran Khanh Quang
Artistic & Institutional Director
Dr. Tran Khanh Quang is a highly accomplished clarinetist and a dedicated educator. He currently serves as a Clarinet Lecturer at the Vietnam National Academy of Music and the Country Chair for the International Clarinet Association in Vietnam. He is also a performing artist for Buffet Crampon Paris and Vandoren Paris.
His musical journey began at the Vietnam National Academy of Music under Dr. Vu Dinh Thach. He earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of North Texas (2020), studying with renowned clarinetists Dr. Kimberly Cole Luevano and Dr. John Scott, and a Master of Music degree from Temple University with Paul Demers. During his doctoral studies, he was a Teaching Assistant and clarinetist with the Woodwind Quintet at UNT.
Dr. Quang's achievements include first-place victories at the Asian Symphony Orchestra Competition in Thailand and the 2018 University of North Texas Concerto Competition. He has received scholarships for study in both Sweden and the United States.
As a soloist, Dr. Tran Khanh Quang has performed with leading orchestras in Vietnam and the United States, including the Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, and the University of North Texas Concerto Orchestra. He also served as principal clarinetist for the North Texas Wind Symphony. His orchestral experience extends to performances with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, Richardson Symphony Orchestra, American Wind Symphony Orchestra, and the Asian Youth Orchestra.
